The Story Of Our Espadrilles

Welcome to our website. Espadrille.co.uk grew out of our family’s love for classic flat espadrilles, with their jute soles and canvas uppers in bright summer colours. Originally setting out to find the source of these comfy shoes our visits to the mediterranean revealed other exciting treasures that we couldn’t resist and our collection started to evolve.

Our aim was to find small family run artisan shoemakers, but what we found was generations of design, knowledge, and innovation that had been passed down from father to son, and mother to daughter. The shoes we discovered whilst travelling had been the choice of summer footwear for women of all ages for many years due to their meticulous detail and fine quality. The local women fully supported every artisan shoemaker we found and it was easy to see why. Every pair of espadrilles thoughtfully created were as unique and special as the woman who wore them.

The aim of espadrille is to carefully select an individual collection that represents all that is good about traditionally made, handcrafted summer footwear for women. High quality materials (with respect for the environment) lovingly crafted into stunning designs which above all are comfortable and will add a luxurious finishing touch to your summer and holiday outfits.
